Saying goodbye to Cornell Creme

Dear friends,

Cornell_Goodbye_pic.jpg

It is with great sadness that I announce the closure of Cornell Creme ice cream.

Closing this business is one of the hardest decisions I have had to make. Due to a number of factors, including rising production and ingredient costs and my own personal reasons, we will not make any more Cornell Creme ice cream.

I started Cornell Creme in 2012 as a small side business, using milk from my family’s farm to make real ice cream for one Winnipeg restaurant. It was a passion project that quickly snowballed into something much bigger. In the blink of an eye, it seemed, we were making a product for retail and stores were actually contacting us to carry our ice cream.

I can’t give enough thanks to the stores, who have continued to carry and promote our products over the years. We were so fortunate to have so many passionate people to help spread the word about our ice cream. Product sales are certainly not the problem, thanks to the support of our retailers and loyal customers, who continue to purchase and spread the word about Cornell Creme. We will be forever grateful for the spot you made for us in your freezers, on your tables, and in your hearts.

I have adored these past five years, making a product that people have loved as much as I did and being a part of the amazing group of people in the Manitoba local food community.

But sadly, it’s time to say goodbye to Cornell Creme.

Looking back on this experience with you will always put a smile on my face. Thanks for the memories Manitoba!

With gratitude,
Lisa Dyck

Thank you - Gratefulness

It's been awhile since I have put my thoughts onto this blog. Can't say "words to paper" because it's rare to write on paper these days. I wait for the day to show my grandkids what a typewriter is (or was).

Today's blog is about saying thank-you. Thank you to everyone that has showed us incredible support over the last 2 1/2 years. We have too many to thank personally but we wanted to make sure everyone knows we are appreciative of all the support we have received. It takes a village to raise a child and Cornell Creme was our baby that has matured into the next phase.

What started as an 'in-the-kitchen' project has transformed into something we could not have imagined when we scooped our first ice-cream into our bowls. Growing a company has been hard work and it has taken complete dedication. There are sacrifices along the way that you make, like time away from loved ones and friends. There has been great things like collaboration with amazing companies and making new friends.

We are finally in our 'expansion year'. We are moving along to make bigger production runs to keep up with the demand of our ice-cream. This is the optimal time to say Thank-You to all of our dedicated, amazing and loyal customers.Without you, this company would not have reached beyond infancy stage. We want you to know we appreciate every comment-tag on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, the phone calls and emails. We feel the love! As we move forward we will continue to put 100% dedication to our farm, our product and our company. We want to ensure you are getting our very best.

Cornell Creme makes farm-fresh Manitoba ice cream. "Milk, cream, eggs and sugar. Those are the base ingredients for every ice cream we make. We don't use fillers or stabilizers or any other ingredients that are hard to pronounce. We like to keep it simple." http://cornellcreme.com
